Gregory Adam Thorp

Originally from northern Wisconsin, Adam earned his bachelor of science from UW-Whitewater in 2008, graduating magna cum laude. During that time, Adam participated in the National Student Exchange and studied at University of the Virgin Islands for three semesters. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law in Washington, DC in 2008, graduating cum laude. After graduation, he returned to the Virgin Islands to work as an attorney in private practice where he specialized in personal injury litigation and criminal defense, establishing himself as a preeminent defense attorney. In 2015, Adam had the remarkable opportunity to leave private practice and expand his legal knowledge and education while working as an appellate law clerk to the Honorable Ive Arlington Swan at the Supreme Court of the Virgin Islands. During his clerkship, Adam analyzed issues of first impression in the Virgin Islands judiciary and drafted bench memos and opinions for both civil and criminal cases.

Areas of Practice:

Adam’s practice at the firm focuses on civil litigation and probate matters.

Commitment:

As an involved member of the St. Thomas community, Adam has coached high school volleyball and served on the board of directors for the local volleyball league. Adam is an active member of the Virgin Islands Bar Association, serving as co-chair of the Moot Court Planning Committee since 2019. In 2021, Adam and his co-chair were honored to receive special recognition from the VI Bar Association for their service on the Moot Court Planning Committee.
